Welcome to the Mine Water Research Center (MWRC)
The Mine Water Research Center was founded in autumn 2009 as a virtual center at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The aim is to combine and to present all activities with respect to questions dealing with the future topic "Mine Water - Water in Mining and Mining Situations".
The Mine Water Research Center provides a platform for various projects comprising interdisciplinary research, the initiation of junior research groups and the performance of training events (summer schools, lab-courses).
Subjects range from mining management, renovation and restoration of mining areas to water chemistry, modelling and visualisation, water treatment, in-situ leaching and other related topics [more information].
